Men's 800 Freestyle Relay

As Rowdy said, "If you wanna see a World Record, tune into primetime tonight and watch the relay." The Americans are heavy favorites, they should win this relay easily. America has raced in this relay 21 times and won every time. This is our event. We could see the same line up from Athens in the final tonight being Michael Phelps, Peter Vanderkaay, Ryan Lochte and Klete Keller. The one change I might predict for the final is dropping Klete Keller for Ricky Berens who took third at trials beating Keller. Keller of course has been on the relay since Athens and has great international experience so that may play a factor in the coach's decision making. They might put Erik Vendt on the relay in finals, since this is all he is swimming for the team, but I don't think his times warrant it.

Lochte and Phelps celebrate beating the Aussies in Athens

As usual, the Australians will be in the mix for a medal in this relay, led by veteran Grant Hackett. Canada took bronze in Melbourne last year and also look to be on the podium. Great Britain just got beat by the Canadians, and are sure to be looking for their revenge here in Beijing. Never count out the host nation in any event I say, and I think the Chinese could fight for a medal in this one. Lastly, Russia might have a shot at some hardware as well.
