Women's 800 Freestyle Relay
The Unites States holds the WR and is defending Olympic Champion. Katie Hoff who finished fourth in the 200 Free last night will lead this relay along with veteran Natalie Coughlin. Allison Schmitt took second in the 200 at trials by less than a tenth. The last position is still undecided I believe, and will likely depend on what happens in prelims. You could see Julia Smit, Kim Vandenberg or Caroline Burckle, it's a tough choice. This relay team, whoever is chosen, should be able to bring down yet another WR along with the gold medal.
Coughlin, Hoff, Nymeyer & Vollmer win in Melbourne
Australia should have a decent relay team with Bronte Barrett, Trickett, Rice and Linda Mackenzie. They presume to be on the podium for this race just like the men's. France will be competing with them along with Italy for a podium position. Laure Manaudou should be on the relay as she held the WR in the 200 Free coming into the games. Finally Great Britain looks for some hardware with a team comprised of Rebecca Adlington, Joanne Jackson, Caitlin McClatchey and someone else with speed I'm sure.
Medal Predictions:
- Gold: USA
- Silver: Australia
- Bronze: Great Britain
